Usher gets his way at the polls

November 9, 2012

Singer Usher did his civic duty in Roswell, Ga. on Tuesday, but the special treatment he received from officials there irked those who stood in the line he was allowed to bypass.

One man told an Atlanta ABC affiliate he was waiting for 45 minutes while the celebrity was  escorted through a back door to the front of the line.

"I take the voting process very seriously, and I was just taken aback that this was allowed to happen," said Alan Christian. Christian also said he was told he could not take photos in the voting booth, another rule that did not apply to Usher.

Election officials told WSBTV that Usher was moved through quickly to "minimize and avoid a distraction at the poll."
