Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) reaffirmed Wednesday that he feels no obligation to an anti-tax pledge he signed over a decade ago. And he warned pledge-promoter Grover Norquist to stay away from his wife.
King responded in an interview with Politico: "I don't think he's ever met me. He's certainty never met my wife, and he better hope he doesn't. She'll knock his head off."
Norquist "has absolutely no influence with me," King declared, adding that an endless pledge to never raise taxes is absurd. "We're not talking about a moral issue like capital punishment, or abortion, or war and peace."
