Boehner to attend awkward White House holiday party

With a budget negotiations stalemate and a growing group of lawmakers believing we will go over the "fiscal cliff," House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) is headed to the White House tonight for a holiday party. 

A possible conversation starter: Boehner's contention on “Fox News Sunday" that “Right now, I would say we’re nowhere, period. We’re nowhere.” Or maybe White House spokesman Jay Carney's assessment of Boehner's demands as "deeply irresponsible." 

Asked what the two would talk about, White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters mOnday, "I don't have a schedule for you on the president's conversations."
