President Obama heads to Redford, Mich., on Monday to tour an engine-manufacturing plant and seek auto workers' support for his proposal to avoid the "fiscal cliff."

During Obama's visit to the Daimler-owned facility, the company will announce a new $100 million investment to expand its Detroit Diesel Corp. operations.

Obama will land in Michigan as a fight over recently-approved "right-to-work" legislation in the state heats up. The Fix's Sean Sullivan can explain what happened; protests are ongoing.

The Post will carry live video of Obama's 2 p.m . ET remarks at the Daimler facility here
