Biden kicks off guns commission

Vice President Biden said Thursday that “we have to take action” to curb gun violence, as he convened the first meeting of the administration’s interagency working group established in the wake of last week’s massacre at a Connecticut elementary school.

Biden and several top administration officials met with leaders of the law enforcement community to begin developing concrete gun safety proposals. Obama tapped Biden, a longtime advocate of gun control, to lead the effort on Wednesday.
