Boehner reelected House speaker, with some dissent

House Speaker John A. Boehner narrowly won re-election Thursday to a second term overseeing a chamber that has proved most difficult for him to manage, surviving a rebellion from his most conservative wing of the GOP caucus.

He survived the defections of 14 Republicans, with the opposition coming from the most conservative wing of the caucus. The final vote tally was 220 for Boehner to 192 for House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).
