Obama will travel to Boston on Thursday

The White House announced Tuesday that President Obama will travel to Boston on Thursday morning to attend an interfaith service for those who were killed and gravely injured in the attack on the Boston Marathon.

Obama has also canceled a scheduled trip to the University of Kansas on Friday.

Among those who will also be attending the service at 11 a.m. at the Cathedral of Holy Cross in Boston is Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick (D).

Three people have died from the twin explosions and several remain in critical condition.
