Dold will run against Schneider again in Illinois

Former Republican congressman Robert Dold will run for his old seat, he announced Wednesday, setting the stage for a rematch against Rep. Brad Schneider (D-Ill.)

"With deep reflection, and strong support from you, Danielle and our kids, my family and friends, I wanted to share with you first that I’ve made the decision to step forward and run in 2014 to represent the 10th District of Illinois," Dold wrote supporters in a note on his Web site.

Redistricting put Dold in the most Democratic seat held by a Republican in 2012. He lost to Schneider by one point in the 10th district, which covers Chicago's northern suburbs.

Dold served a single term in the House. He was elected in the GOP wave of 2010.
