Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.) will not run for Senate in 2014.

“[O]ur assessment at this point is the House is the battleground for politics in this country right now,” Price told the Marietta Daily Journal. "[T]hat’s where we’ll be offering for reelection in 2014.”

His decision to stay out of the race suggests that Karen Handel, the former secretary of state and an ally of Price, will launch a campaign.

Reps. Jack Kingston, Paul Broun and Phil Gingrey are all already in the race.

Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R) is retiring. Rep. John Barrow, considered the strongest Democratic candidate for the seat, has opted not to run. Democrats are now turning their attention to Michelle Nunn, the daughter of former senator Sam Nunn.
