Cuomo: ‘Shame on us’ if New York elects Anthony Weiner

The governor is not planning to endorse in the mayor's race. “I’m going to try to stay out of the politics of New York City if I can avoid it,” he said in December.

Weiner announced his plans to run this week with a slick, subtly Mets-themed Web site. He kicked off his campaign Thursday morning at a subway stop in Harlem. But his past indiscretions won't necessarily stay in the past; he acknowledged in a radio interview that more women could come forward with photos and e-mails from him.
