Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) has joined the growing chorus of criticism of NSA leaker Edward Snowden, telling a local TV station that Snowden is a coward who is endangering millions of American lives.
"He should be extradited, arrested and prosecuted," Wasserman Schultz told the local CBS affiliate. "I mean that's exactly what should happen to him, because he violated the law, he violated America's trust, he jeopardized millions of Americans."
Wasserman Schultz's criticism is particularly interesting given that she voted against the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act provisions that allowed for the programs Snowden leaked to the press.
She is not alone in her strong criticism. House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) on Tuesday morning labeled Snowden a "traitor."
