DSCC outraises NRSC in May

Senate Democrats' campaign arm outraised its GOP counterpart in May, bringing in $4.9 million to the Senate Republican campaign organization's $3.6 million.

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, which received a fundraising hand from President Obama, ended the month with about $10 million in the bank, it said Thursday. The National Republican Senatorial Committee finished with about $7.1 million.

The NRSC said it had $8 million worth of debt at the end of the month. The DSCC would not immediately reveal its debt load. At the end of April, the Democratic committee was carrying about $13.8 million worth of debt.
