John Dingell tries Google Glass: ‘This is quite a machine!’

Rep. John D. Dingell (D-Mich.), who last week became the longest-serving member of Congress in U.S. history, came face-to-face Thursday with one of the world's newest technological innovations: Google Glass.


As you can watch in the video above, a Google rep asked Dingell to use the glasses to search for a nearby restaurant.

"This is quite a machine!" he said as they successfully found a nearby Chinese restaurant.

Dingell's staff posted the video Thursday afternoon on his Facebook page and said he wanted to try out the glasses in part because Google has a sales office based in Ann Arbor, Mich., in the heart of his district.

The folks at Google have been making the rounds on Capitol Hill. A few weeks ago, for example, reporters spotted Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) trying out the eye wear.
