Vice President Biden will attend a memorial service in Arizona next week for the 19 firefighters killed fighting a wildfire there, Biden's office confirmed Friday.
Biden be in the Prescott area on Tuesday to help commemorate the 19 were killed in the Yarnell fire in a forest northwest of Phoenix this week. It was the deadliest wildfire involving firefighters in the U.S. in at least 30 years.
The White House has not said whether President Obama will travel to Arizona. Obama, who was on a trip to Africa for the first part of the week, called Gov. Jan Brewer (R) on Monday to receive an update on the situation and express his condolences.
