Vice President Biden said Friday that “we don’t know” what the federal government can do to help Detroit as the city files for bankruptcy.
Asked by reporters whether the Obama administration can help Detroit, Biden said, “We don’t know.”
“Can we help Detroit? We are now going through exactly the details,” Biden said, noting that he participated in a meeting Thursday about the issue.
Biden’s comments to reporters came at a meeting with law enforcement officials to discuss immigration reform.
