House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is encouraging her Democratic colleagues to continue reviewing all information regarding a possible U.S. military strike in Syria.
Pelosi sent a letter to colleagues Wednesday also asking them to continue sharing ideas on how the U.S. should respond to the use of chemical weapons in Syria.
"Please offer further suggestions or ideas you may have as to what you can support, so I can convey your concerns to the White House," she said in the letter. Her message mentions proposals advanced by Rep. Steve Israel (D-N.Y.) and by Reps. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) and Gerald E. Connolly (D-Va.) that would limit the scope of any military action.
Pelosi has voiced her support for a military strike, but a running whip count of congressional support by The Washington Post finds many House Democrats are undecided or leaning toward voting against such a plan.
