Obama urges Americans to watch video of aftermath of chemical weapon attack in Syria

September 11, 2013

On Tuesday evening, President Obama addressed the nation about the conflict in Syria. While making the case that chemical weapon attacks in Syria violated the basic rules of humanity, Obama urged the American people to watch video of the aftermath.

"Indeed, I'd ask every member of Congress and those of you watching at home tonight to view those videos of the attack, and then ask, what kind of world will we live in if the United States of America sees a dictator brazenly violate international law with poison gas and we choose to look the other way?" Obama said.

Here is a compilation of videos taken in Damascus following the chemical weapons attack on Aug. 21 that was shown to the Senate Intelligence Committee on Sept. 5.
