Uninsured not learning about Obamacare exchanges

Despite the health-care exchanges having been up now for almost three weeks, uninsured Americans aren't learning much about the new program.

A new Gallup poll shows 71 percent of uninsured people say they are not familiar with the exchanges, while 28 percent say they are familiar.

That's little-changed from last month, before the exchanges began, when 25 percent were familiar and 72 percent were unfamiliar.

The newer poll shows 47 percent of uninsured people aren't familiar with the exchanges "at all."

In addition, the Web site glitches appear to have turned people off, as the number saying they will forgo insurance and pay the penalty has increased from 25 percent last month to 34 percent on Friday.
