House to adjourn Thursday for Young funeral

October 21, 2013

It’s now going to be an even shorter week for the U.S. House of Representatives.

Scheduled to return for votes on Tuesday evening, the House now does not plan to be in session Thursday so that lawmakers may attend the funeral for the late Rep. C. W. “Bill” Young (R-Fla.), who died last week.

The House is scheduled to vote on the Water Resources Reform and Development Act, a measure designed to provide more federal funding for dams, bridges and other infrastructure projects.

The Senate is on recess this week, its first break since the Labor Day weekend.
