Christie leads by 20-plus points in final polls

November 4, 2013

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) is set to sail to reelection  Tuesday, with a series of new polls released Monday showing him leading state Sen. Barbara Buono (D) by at least 20 points.

Here's the breakdown:

Quinnipiac University: Christie 61, state Sen. Barbara Buono (D) 33

Monmouth University: Christie 57, Buono 37

Rutgers University-Eagleton Institute of Politics: Christie 66, Buono 30

No New Jersey governor has won an election by more than 24 points since Republican Tom Kean in 1985. Kean won 70-29 that year.

Virginia is the only other state holding a governor's race Tuesday. In that race, polls show Democrat Terry McAuliffe ahead of Republican Ken Cuccinelli by anywhere from the mid-single digits to the low teens.
