‘Duck Dynasty’ star Willie Robertson to attend State of the Union

Willie Robertson, star of the popular show "Duck Dynasty," will be attending Tuesday night's State of the Union address as a guest of Rep. Vance McAllister (R-La.).

"Willie is thankful for this opportunity and honored to attend. I look forward to the two of us representing the Fifth District in DC this evening and bringing some diversity to our nation's capitol," McAllister said in a statement Tuesday.

Robertson cut an ad for McAllister during last year's special election. He's very popular in Louisiana, where "Duck Dynasty" is based. The show follows the Robertson family and their duck call business.

Willie Robertson's father Phil Robertson, also one of the show's stars, came under national scrutiny late last year after he made controversial remarks about homosexuality in an interview with GQ.

A&E, which puts on the show, initially suspended Phil Robertson before reversing course.
