DCCC raises $6.4 million in February, outpacing NRCC

Updated with NRCC totals

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee raised $6.4 million in February, a DCCC aide said Thursday, outpacing the National Republican Congressional Committee by about $1.3 million.

The DCCC ended the month with $34.4 million in the bank and no debt. House Democrats need to pick up 17 seats to win back the House majority, a task even Democrats privately acknowledge is near impossible.

The NRCC raised $5.1 million and ended with $24.8 million in the bank.

President Obama has committed to doing at least six fundraising events for the DCCC in the coming months, including a May 19 fundraiser in Potomac, Md.
