February fundraising roundup: DNC and RNC clock in around $7 million

March 21, 2014

The Democratic and Republican National Committees each raised around $7 million in February, according to reports filed with the Federal Election Commission.

The DNC brought in about $7.4 million and ended the month with about $7 million in the bank. But the committee is still carrying a hefty debt load: $15.2 million.

The RNC raised about $6.9 million and ended the month with about $10 million in the bank. It is debt-free.

The Democratic Senate and House fundraising committees each outpaced their Republican counterparts last month. Senate Democrats are defending a fragile majority while House Democrats face a steep uphill climb in the battle for the lower chamber, which the GOP controls.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee raised $6.4 million and ended the month with $34.4 million in the bank. The National Republican Congressional Committee raised $5.1 million and ended with $24.8 million in the bank.

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee raised $6.8 million and wrapped up the month with $18.1 million in the bank and $1.2 million in debt. The National Republican Senatorial Committee raised about $5.5 million and ended the month with $12.8 million in the bank and no debt.
