There's an addition to President Obama's schedule this afternoon — he'll make an announcement on the Affordable Care Act this afternoon.

The number of Americans who signed up for health care appears "on track" to reach 7 million people, two officials familiar with the situation told The Post. All bets are on Obama announcing the official numbers in the Rose Garden at 4:15.

The numbers come as the six-month open enrollment period ended Monday and signified a major enrollment push in the final days and hours.

The political ramifications are undeniable. As our colleagues Juliet Eilperin and Amy Goldstein write:

"The extent of the new insurance’s popularity carries significant political implications for a law that has been a source of deep partisan division ever since it was enacted four years ago."

Deadline day was not without problems. The site was down for longer than usual early Monday morning to fix a software glitch. It's typically shut down for maintenance each night.
