Sullivan outraises Begich in first quarter

Former state attorney general Dan Sullivan (R) raised more than $1.3 million during the first three months of the year, outpacing Sen. Mark Begich (D-Alaska) for the second straight quarter.

Sullivan ended March with just $2 million in the bank. Begich raised just over $1 million and ended the period with $2.8 million in the bank.

Sullivan has quickly emerged as the front-runner in the contested Republican primary, securing the support of influential outside groups like the Club for Growth and American Crossroads. His main GOP opponent, Lt. Gov. Mead Treadwell (R), has not yet released his first-quarter totals.
