American Crossroads is back after big fundraising month

April 14, 2014

The Republican-aligned super PAC American Crossroads is back in the game after raising little money since the 2012 election.

The super PAC raised $5.2 million in March. That's more than it raised in all of 2013 and the first two months of 2014 combined.

American Crossroads spent $600,000 for the month and has $6.4 million cash on hand.

The group was the biggest name among GOP outside groups during the 2010 and 2012 elections, but it was a virtual non-entity in 2013. In the meantime, groups like Americans for Prosperity have emerged as the big spenders on GOP candidates and causes.

Crossroads spent $28 million on the 2010 election and $113 million in 2012. It also has an affiliated nonprofit group, Crossroads GPS, which has spent heavily.
