DSCC edges out NRSC in April fundraising

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee edged out the National Republican Senatorial Committee in fundraising last month, hauling in $6.3 million to the NRSC's $6.04 million.

The DSCC plans to announce Monday that in addition to raising $6.3 million in April, it ended the month with $25 million in the bank and no debt. The NRSC has $21.9 million in the bank and is also debt-free.

Both the DSCC and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee have been getting fundraising help from President Obama.

Republicans need to pick up six seats to win back the Senate majority.
