June 10, 2014

Rep. Alan Nunnelee (R-Miss.) is recovering after undergoing surgery Monday to remove a small mass from his brain.

Nunnelee is "out of surgery at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas. His family is with him at the hospital and indicated that the surgery went well. He is currently resting comfortably," his office said in a statement.

In a statement last week, Nunnelee said tests "confirmed that the small intracranial mass on the right side of my brain is isolated."

Nunnelee, 55, is in his second term in the House.
