Terri Lynn Land tops Gary Peters in second quarter fundraising battle

Former Michigan secretary of state Terri Lynn Land (R) had another productive fundraising quarter, bringing in nearly $2.2 million between April and June, outpacing her likely Democratic opponent in the U.S. Senate race.

In addition to raising $2.15 million, Land chipped in another $1.2 million of her own money. She ended June with nearly $5.3 million in her campaign account.

Rep. Gary Peters (D) raised $1.96 million between April and June. His campaign did not say how much money he had on hand.

Land and Peters are expected to face one another in the race for the seat of retiring Sen. Carl Levin (D).
