The Republican Governors Association raised $26.6 million between April and June,  keeping up a quick fundraising pace under the leadership of Gov. Chris Christie (R), who chairs the group.

The RGA ended the period with more than $70 million in the bank, the group said. The RGA also said it has raised $60 million since Christie was elected chairman last fall.

Republicans are defending 22 gubernatorial seats this year, compared to 14 for Democrats.
