Dick Cheney does not favor impeaching Obama, but calls him ‘worst president’ of his lifetime

Don't add former vice president Dick Cheney to the list of Republicans who want to impeach President Obama.

"I'm not prepared at this point to call for the impeachment of the president," Cheney told CNN's Jake Tapper Tuesday, arguing that such an effort would be a distraction.

Even as he does not want to see an effort to impeach Obama, Cheney sharply criticized him, saying, "Jimmy Carter might have been a better president."

"I think he is the worst president of my lifetime. I fundamentally disagree with him. I think he's doing a lot of things wrong," said Cheney. "I'm glad to see that the House Republicans are challenging him, at least legally at this point."

Sarah Palin last week called for Obama's impeachment, leading to renewed questions for Republicans about whether they favor the idea.
