Rep. Gary Peters (D-Mich.) leads his likely Republican opponent for U.S. Senate by 9 percentage points, according to a new poll. The survey comes on the heels of a pair of other polls showing Peters leading by a slimmer margin.
In May, Peters was leading by 6 points.
Two other polls this month suggested that Peters held a slight advantage. Denno Research found Peters with a 3-point lead among likely voters (inside the margin of error), while NBC News/Marist showed Peters up 43 percent to 37 percent among registered voters.
The EPIC-MRA poll is by far the widest of those leads, but altogether the polls agree he is at least up by single digits.
Peters and Land are expected to be nominated by their respective parties. The EPIC-MRA poll was conducted July 12-15.
