Senate Democratic campaign arm outraises Republican arm in June

July 18, 2014

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee raised nearly $7.2 million during June, outpacing its Republican counterpart by about $1 million.

The DSCC, which is designed to protect Democratic senators and help elect Democratic challengers, won the month, beating out the National Republican Senatorial Committee. The NRSC raised more than $6 million in June.

The DSCC ended June with more than $30 million in the bank. The NRSC had more than $24 million in its campaign account.

Republicans need to pick up six seats to win the majority this November. President Obama has been helping the DSCC and the House Democratic campaign arm raise money throughout the election cycle.
