Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee (R) says President Obama deserves to be impeached.

"Absolutely. There's no doubt he's done plenty of things worthy of impeachment," Huckabee told conservative radio host Steve Deace for his Aug. 4 podcast.

The 2008 presidential candidate and potential 2016 contender said Obama's use of executive power has gone too far. He accused the president of of "complete ignoring of the law."

But Huckabee acknowledged that with a Democratic-controlled Senate, any impeachment case brought by the House would go nowhere.

Huckabee joins former Alaska governor Sarah Palin and a smattering of other conservatives who have openly called for impeachment. Most Republican leaders are not recommending it.
