Is it a good time to be a black woman in America?

(Marvin Joseph - WASHINGTON POST)
A sweeping nationwide survey about the lives, outlook and goals of black women in America helps to analyze and understand how African American women define themselves.

An article by Krissah Thompson and polling by Jon Cohen of The Washington Post show that black women place a greater importance on religion, careers and wealth than white women. In addition, African American women are more apt to have helped family members through tough economic times in the past year.

At the core of the article and survey is the simple question: Is it a good time to be a black woman in America? And do you think black women have been given an opportunity to speak for themselves? Vote below and elaborate on your thoughts in the comments.
