D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray skipped the State of the Union address Tuesday night to attend a birthday party for his girlfriend.
Gray did not receive an invitation from President Obama, but he could have gone to the event as a guest of D.C. Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton.
Instead he attended a 40-person party in a private room at Cafe Milano with his girlfriend of several years.
