Daytime talk show “Live!” is already so over Regis Philbin. The Monday after Rege’s departure, from the show he helmed since the 80’s, the show welcomes guest co-host Jerry Seinfeld from Nov. 21-23, exec producer Michael Gelman said Tuesday.
“Jerry is a great friend of ours and a friend of Kelly [Ripa’s] and it doesn’t hurt that he’s an entertainment icon,” exec producer Gelman simpered.
“It’s a great way to kick off the new beginning of our show.”
Back in January, when the show used to refer to Rege as an entertainment icon, he announced he would leave “Live with Regis and Kelly” at the end of this TV season. The “official TV season” usually runs through May. But weeks later, he announced he would leave this month; his last day is set for Nov. 18.
