A man who approached officers in Southeast Washington while brandishing a knife was shot and critically wounded by police Friday after he refused to drop the weapon, a police department spokesman said.
The incident occurred around 6 p.m. in the 4200 block of 4th Street SE Officers went t here to investigate a report about a man threatening to do bodily harm, police said. .
