Alert issued for Howard County man

Howard County police have issued a silver alert asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 78-year-old man who disappeared Sept. 23 from the vicinity of his home in Ellicott City.

John Condayan, who suffers from a cognitive disorder, was last seen driving his silver/gold 2003 Toyota Highlander bearing the Maryland handicapped license plate 64622HV east on Route 32 in the Clarksville section of the county.

Relatives told police that Condayan’s condition requires him to take medication daily. Relatives are concerned, police said, because after a traffic collision last week, he was located in Pennsylvania.

Police said Condayan’s credit card was used Sept. 23 at about 7:30 p.m. in Westminster.

Condayan is described as a white male, 5 feet 6 inches tall with gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a light gray polo, khakis and sneakers. He walks with a cane because one leg is shorter than the other, police said.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911.
