Pedestrian struck by vehicle in Southeast

A pedestrian was critically injured Thursday when he was struck by a vehicle on a Southeast Washington street, D.C. police said.

The accident happened in the 4200 block of Southern Avenue just before 7 p.m., said Officer Paul Metcalf, a spokesman. The pedestrian, who was only identified as a male, was found unconscious but breathing.

His injuries are considered life threatening. No further details were immediately available
