President’s Day closings in the District, Maryland and Virginia

Monday is President’s Day. Here’s a list of closings, delays and other schedule changes to expect in the District, Maryland and Virginia:

CLOSED EVERYWHERE:

Most banks.

All federal offices.

All post offices. There will be no mail delivery, except for Express Mail.

All courts, except for adult arraignments and new juvenile referrals in the District.

DISTRICT:

Traffic, parking: Meters not enforced.

Trash, recycling: Trash pickups will be delayed one day. Ft. Totten transfer station closed.

Liquor stores: Owner’s discretion.

Schools: Closed.

Libraries: Closed.

Local government offices: Closed.

MARYLAND:

Traffic, parking: Parking fees in Anne Arundel and Howard. No parking fees in Montgomery and in Prince George’s except at the New Carrollton garage and the National Harbor.

Trash, recycling: Regular trash pickups in Anne Arundel, Prince George’s, Howard and Montgomery. Landfills open except in Anne Arundel.

Liquor stores:Closed in Montgomery County.

Schools: Closed.

Libraries: Closed except for Frederick.

Local government offices: Closed.

VIRGINIA:

Traffic, parking: Holiday parking regulations in effect in Alexandria City and Arlington; meters not enforced. HOV restrictions lifted.

Trash, recycling: Regular trash pickups in Arlington and Fairfax counties. Pickups in City of Fairfax and City of Alexandria will be delayed one day. Landfills open.

Liquor stores: Open.

Schools: Closed.

Libraries: Closed.

Local government offices: Closed.

TRANSPORTATION:

— No service for MARC or VRE.

— DASH will operate on a Saturday schedule.

— Ride On will operate on a special modified holiday schedule.

— DASH will operate on a Saturday schedule.

— CUE will operate on a modified weekday schedule.

— Fairfax Connector will operate on a holiday weekday schedule. Routes 335, 395, 585, 595 and 597 will not operate.

— ART will operate routes 41, 42, 51 and 87 only, all on a Saturday schedule.

— The Bus will operate on a regular schedule but Routes 51/52 Extended and 52 will not operate.

— PRTC OmniRide’s commuter bus will operate on a modified holiday service. OmniLink local bus and cross-county connector service will have regular service.

— Loudoun Commuter Bus will operate on a limited holiday schedule.

— Metrorail will operate on a Saturday schedule 5 a.m. to midnight. Shuttle buses will replace trains on the Orange Line between Rosslyn and Virginia Square and on the Red Line between Medical Center and White Flint. Customers traveling between these stations should allow 20-30 minutes of additional travel time.

— Metrobus will operate on a Saturday supplemental schedule with some late-night trips cancelled on select routes.

— MetroAccess subscriptions are canceled. A reservation must be made.
