Soldier from Alexandria dies in Kuwait

A soldier from Alexandria died in Kuwait this week while serving a support role in the war in Afghanistan, the Defense Department announced.

Staff Sgt. Jessica M. Wing, 42, died on Monday in Kuwait City in a non-combat related incident, officials said.

She was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 126th Aviation Regiment in Bangor, Maine. The Bangor Daily News reported that Wing was originally from Glenburn, Maine.

No additional information about her deployment or cause of death has been released.
