Prince George’s County police are investigating a double shooting in Suitland early Thursday that left one person dead, and detectives are trying to determine whether another shooting victim located nearby at about the same time was part of the same altercation.
Police said they were called to the 2900 block of Victory Lane at 4:22 a.m. They found two men shot; one was pronounced dead on the scene. The condition of the other victim was not immediately available.
A third shooting victim, a woman, was discovered about 4:30 a.m. in the District, authorities said.
D.C. police said the shooting of the woman was being investigated by Prince George’s County police, and referred questions to that agency. Corporal Mike Rodriguez, a Prince George’s police spokesman, said detectives were trying to determine whether the woman was shot in Prince George’s County or in the District, and whether her shooting was connecting to the shootings on Victory Lane.
If she was shot in the District, the case would be transferred to D.C. police.
Rodriguez said he could not confirm a report by News Channel 8 that the woman had been brought to a D.C. police station after she was shot, and had died of her wounds.
No other details were available.
