The survey of the Washington Monument is resuming Monday after the National Park Service deemed weather conditions safe for rappelling inspectors.

The inspection was halted Sunday due to high winds, a day after climber Erik Sohn was blown 30 feet, off the west wall and onto the south wall, while he was working 50 feet off the ground.

Climbers are examining each stone of the monument for earthquake damage.
