Anya to announce college decision Nov. 16

DeMatha senior BeeJay Anya will make his much-anticipated college commitment on Nov. 16 at the school’s annual Midnight Madness event. The 6-foot-9 center is considering offers from Syracuse, N.C. State, DePaul, Ohio State, Indiana and Pittsburgh, according to Stags Coach Mike Jones.

Multiple outlets have reported that N.C. State and Indiana are the frontrunners for Anya, who visited N.C. State last weekend. But the forward recently told ZagsBlog that his recruitment is “wide open.”

Anya was named first-team All-Met last season after averaging 13.3 points, 10.5 rebounds and a school-record 6.8 blocks. Ranked as the No. 31 overall senior by ESPN, Anya helped lead Team USA to gold at the FIBA U17 World Championships this past summer.
