Looking at the top local high school football prospects in the class of 2014

1.DB Jalen Tabor, Friendship Collegiate, 6-1, 176

His recruitment began earlier and progressed faster than the Knights’ mega-recruit Eddie Goldman. Has a penchant for the big play and already holds offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Maryland and South Carolina, among others. [VIDEO]

2.DL Da’Shawn Hand, Woodbridge, 6-5, 245

All-Met is already attracting plenty of attention from opposing defenses and college recruiters, counts Virginia and Virginia Tech among his scholarship offers.

3.LB Devin Williams, St. John’s, 5-9, 195

Physical player enjoyed strong season after transferring from St. Stephen’s/St. Agnes; committed to Stanford before his sophomore year.

4.OL Damian Prince, McNamara, 6-6, 310

Massive lineman is closing in on 10 scholarship offers.

5.OL Sam Mustipher, Good Counsel, 6-4, 270

With two years on the varsity already, he has experience and talent that should allow him to shine.
