Matt Rolin / Briar Woods / LB / 6-4, 215 / Statistics
The captain of a defense that allowed just 6.5 points per game, Rolin was an all-district and all-region pick despite missing nearly the entire postseason after suffering a knee injury. Rolin committed to South Carolina in May but surprised many by reversing course in December and committing to SEC rival Florida.
A punishing tackler, Rolin also played tight end for the Falcons. He was selected for the 2013 Under Armour All-American Game but was limited to walking the sideline on crutches as he began his recovery from surgery. Rolin has already enrolled in Gainesville.
Fellow Briar Woods senior tight end Cam Serigne signed his letter-of-intent to play at Wake Forest this morning. The Falcons are hosting a signing ceremony at 4:15 p.m. in the Ashburn school’s library.
Here’s a recruiting spotlight video shot before Rolin made the switch.
