National Signing Day 2014: Caleb Henderson signs with North Carolina

The 2013 All-Met Offensive Player of the Year stuffed the stat sheet this past fall in leading Lake Braddock to the Virginia 6A North region semifinals. Behind a strong arm and powerful rushing ability, Henderson threw for 2,159 yards and 20 touchdowns and rushed for 964 yards and 18 more touchdowns as Lake Braddock averaged 45.8 points.

Ranked as the No. 189 overall senior recruit by ESPN, the U.S. Army All-American committed to North Carolina last April. Henderson is one of four local athletes who will play for the Tar Heels next season, joining Yorktown’s M.J. Stewart and T.C. Williams defenders Malik Carney and Jeremiah Clarke.

Henderson was coached throughout high school by his dad, Eric, who was head coach at West Potomac for Henderson’s first two years and an assistant at Lake Braddock the past two seasons. Check out this video on their special bond:
