Riding the wave of a breakout junior campaign that featured first-team All-Met honors and WCAC, VISAA Division I and Alhambra titles, Paul VI swingman Joshua Reaves has seen his recruitment skyrocket during the past month.
Reaves garnered offers from Georgetown, where fellow Panther junior and All-Met Marcus Derrickson is committed, and Maryland. These schools join a list that includes Boston College, Penn State, Temple, VCU and Villanova.
Behind his active, athletic play on both ends of the floor, Reaves averaged a team-high 12.6 points for the Panthers this past season in leading them to the No. 1 spot in The Post Top 20.
— Another junior fresh off a strong season is W.T. Woodson guard Eric Bowles. Blessed with a quick first step and strong court awareness, Bowles averaged 14.6 points to lead the Cavaliers to the Virginia 6A North region title and earn third-team All-Met honors. Radford Coach Mike Jones made a visit to Woodson on Tuesday and extended a scholarship offer to Bowles. Later in the day, Bowles was offered by Rider, adding to a list that also includes Holy Cross and Kennesaw State.
— Earlier this month, Herndon senior swingman Dorian Johnson committed to play basketball at Barton College, a Division II school in North Carolina. Johnson averaged a team-high 19.4 points for the Hornets in his fourth year of varsity play, displaying a versatility that allowed the 6-foot-4 standout to excel as a shooter, rebounder and passer. Johnson was named an honorable mention All-Met.
