Katherine Kallinis Berman and Sophie Kallinis LaMontagne — stars of TLC’s “D.C. Cupcakes” — avoided an embarrassing PR flap by paying off a delinquent tax bill this week. On Thursday, the D.C. tax office put a lien on Georgetown Cupcake for $189,282.71 in unpaid sales tax, reported the Washington Business Journal. The problem was blamed on a filing snafu; the bill paid in full by Friday. “Any misunderstanding has been resolved,” a spokeswoman for the owners told us. Just in time: A pregnant Katherine is due to have her baby any day now.
